Moore Hören
Transformative interdisciplinary project that combines art and science
Moore Hören is a pioneering project in the convergence of science and art. The process of transforming bogs through rewetting is becoming synonymous with a vital paradigm shift.
For this purpose, microphones are brought into the bog. Depending on the bogs’ conditions, these provide different sound patterns: almost natural moors, drained moors and now rewetted moors - all have their own sound world.
Additional sensor measurements of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane released from the bogs interact with the microphone recordings and trigger creative impulses. The bog forms its own sound.
This creates transformative connections: science, sound and video art meet in their own way and enable a unique symbiosis of nature, sound and image.
With permanent water saturation, bogs store large amounts of carbon in the long term and are a decisive climate factor. They are once again assuming their key function for climate protection and biodiversity. By making their processes visible and audible, we can approach them and sensitize our perception.
